We publish romance in all its forms — from sweet & clean to dark and intense, contemporary to historical, slow-burn to instant spark. What matters is the love story at the heart of it.

We're drawn to manuscripts that take beloved tropes and execute them with originality and craft. We love a trope done well — a billionaire who isn't a cardboard cutout, an enemies-to-lovers arc that earns the turn.

Whatever the setting or heat level — the emotional relationship between your leads must be the spine of the story. The HEA or HFN is non-negotiable.

Your Query Letter
One page. Tell us who you are, what the book is (title, word count, subgenre), and give us the blurb — the kind that would go on the back cover. Include previous publications only if relevant. No credits? No problem.
Write to us like a human, not a pitch machine. We notice the voice in the letter.

Your Synopsis
2–3 pages, single-spaced. This one includes the ending — we need to see the full emotional arc, the turning points, and how the relationship resolves. Spoil it for us.
A synopsis that can't convey the heart of the story raises concerns about the manuscript's structure.

Your First Three Chapters
Or approximately 10,000 words — whichever comes first. Word document, 12pt Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1-inch margins. That's it. No platform required. No gimmicks. Just the writing.
If we love the opening pages, we'll request the full manuscript — usually within two weeks.

Acknowledgement
You'll receive a confirmation within 2–3 business days so you know it landed safely in the right inbox.
Step 02
We Read It
A real editor reads your query, synopsis, and opening pages. Personally. Not an algorithm, not an assistant.
Step 03
We Respond
Within 4–6 weeks. If the opening grabs us, we'll request the full manuscript and respond again within 2 weeks of that.
Step 04
An Offer or a Note
If we want to publish it — we'll make an offer. If not, we'll tell you why. No form rejections. You deserve a real answer.

Before You Ask

Common Questions

Can I submit if I've already self-published?

Yes — we'll consider previously self-published work, especially if the book has strong reader reception and fits our catalog. Tell us your sales history and review count in the query.

What genres and heat levels do you publish?

We publish romance across the full spectrum — sweet & clean, contemporary, dark, mafia, historical, paranormal, and more. Every heat level from wholesome to very steamy is welcome. The non-negotiable is a central love story with real emotional stakes and a satisfying HEA or HFN.

I'm an international author. Can I still submit?

Absolutely. Good writing doesn't have a zip code. We work with authors globally and handle contracts and payments internationally.

Do I need a literary agent?

No. We accept agented and unagented submissions equally. If you have an agent, great — copy them in. If not, submit directly. Your work stands on its own.

Can I submit multiple manuscripts?

Yes, but please submit them separately, not in the same email. If you're submitting more than one title at a time, space them out by at least a week so each gets proper attention.

What if my word count is outside the range?

40,000–80,000 is our sweet spot, but we'll bend for the right story. If you're under or over, mention it upfront and make the case for why the length serves the narrative.

How do I follow up on a submission?

If you haven't heard from us after 8 weeks, feel free to email office@justlovepublishing.com with "FOLLOW UP: [Book Title]" in the subject. We'll respond within a week.
